Affiliate Marketing Isn’t As Easy As It Looks!

Hey everyone, in my last post I mentioned the current projects I am involved in order to make money online. I’ve been quite a bit of time lately attempting affiliate marking. My affiliate network of choice is Pepperjam Network, they have excellent tracking software and quick payouts by cheque, paypal or wire transfer every two weeks with a minimum threshold of only $25.
I’ve also been following the excellent guide over at UberAffiliate and my 30 Day Challenge training to help me out. I’ve got to say that this thing is much much much harder than it looks. I have yet to make a campaign profitable.
I am using PPC tactics to test offers, namely Yahoo Search Marketing and Adwords. Yahoo is pretty simple to use but Google Adwords is one fickle machine and frankly it’s kicking my @$$ big time. I started out well in Google Adwords getting a nice CTR for my ads and excellent positioning.
I think in my naiviity and fear of losing money I paused my Adwords Campaigns too quickly and now I have a poor quality score and am required to bid extremely high for first page positioning of my ads. I must admit right I am at a bit of a loss when it comes to Adwords.
So I’m reading through the entire Adwords help section to get an idea of how to reduce my required bids and increase my quality score. Meanwhile on Yahoo I’m getting some good traffic at the low price I was getting it when I first started Adwords just a lot slower.
It’s obvious to me that I’m really going to have to remain as focused as possible on this affiliate marketing endeavour. I will continue to test, track and try things until I get my campaigns successful. I think this is the only way to really be successful in anything, not just affiliate marketing.
